From our Capital to the Capitol...
Team Canada is off to D.C.!
Last month, our nation's finest spellers were in Ottawa for the CanWest CanSpell National Spelling where Ottawa student, Emma Brownlie, won the cup the title of Canada's best speller. Now Emma, Thunder Bay finalist Logan Turner, and the 20 other regional winning spellers, are off to compete in the grand finale of the Bee world, the 81st Annual Scripps National Spelling Bee, May 29th and 30th.
Based on the extreme talent displayed at the Ottawa event, our Canadian contingent in Washiongton holds great promise. You can continue to follow their progress at this site, and at www.canspell.com.
Watch to see how our Canadian spellers fare in this exciting culmination of events! The Scripps National Championshipo will be broadcast on ABC Friday, May 30. Check local listings.
